High School Graduation 2016

I graduated high school!!!
I made it!
Congrats to the class of 2016!!
I graduated on Friday, the 24th at 5:30 pm.
Friday was such a crazy day.
I got up at 10 am, showered and spent the whole day getting ready.
I took my sweet time putting my makeup on and taking photos before the ceremony, because after the ceremony was insane.
Graduation was so surreal. I still can't believe it happened!
I took Saturday to decompress and I attempted to absorb everything that happened.
Hard to believe, but I didn't really cry at all on Friday because I honestly didn't have time!
I had to be at school at 4:15pm all ready to go. We started walking at 5:30. It was a 2 hour ceremony and then we had a big family dinner at my house from 8-10. And then at 10pm-3am the next morning was Frolic. (New Frolic blog post posted here) We then had breakfast at 4am and then we attempted to watch the sunrise. Long story short I slept all day Saturday, until 3:30pm.
So back to Friday, I graduated high school!
I didn't sleep well the night before, so I was kinda tired all day, until my adrenaline kicked in at graduation.
Michelle and I were kinda nervous all day so we had a difficult time eating leading up to graduation.
But I forced myself to eat and drink a lot of water, because the last time I didn't eat anything all day and I had a big event that night I almost passed out. (*cough Confirmation *cough)
Thankfully, Friday wasn't too hot. Graduation was outside and those robes are extremely hot, but I had a light and very comfortable dress on underneath so I was really comfortable, and there was a really really nice breeze. My family was able to sit in the shade so we were all pretty comfortable.
We all walked down the main steps of the high school to the classic graduation processional song. I really wanted to look up a the audience and my parents but I was really focused on not falling so I kept looking down at my feet.
The speeches from our class president and our valedictorian and salutatorian were all pretty good.
The salutatorian speech had a lot of funny inside jokes in it, referencing our town's crazy Facebook neighborhood watch group and our failed senior prank.
Our valedictorian is just a really funny guy so of course he had a really funny speech. He said something along the lines of "Our class is made up of a lot of different talents and hobbies- club president, star athlete, amazing singer, all around good person... and he was like yeah but those are all just me, now talking about the whole grade there are many more...." We all died.
It was so funny, so sorry but I guess you kinda had to be there.
Then it was the time to receive our diplomas...
Our class officers called our names, my last name is very difficult and it was slightly butchered but it could have been much much worse. My whole family cheered and it was really cute. I wanted to look up to the audience again but I couldn't because I had to focus on walking down the bleachers. Thankfully I didn't fall. No one did. There were a lot of very close calls but none of my classmates wiped out. Thank heavens.
So I go and get my diploma case! (not even my actual diploma, we had to pick that up after the ceremony) and I shake the Board of Education member's hands and the principal gives me a big hug. I walk in front of everyone to go get my picture taken in front of the school, I look at my diploma case, I think it looks a little weird but I didn't really think twice, take the photo, climb up the bleachers back to my seat, sit down and take a photo of my diploma case for snapchat and it's not the right diploma case!!! It doesn't say my high school!!!!! It says "Upper Marion Area High School King of Prussia, Pennsylvania." Okay, I know most of you don't know where I live, but I can tell you for certain that I don't live in King of Prussia, PA.....
It was the funniest thing. Like just my luck. I couldn't even focus or listen to the rest of my classmates name's get called because I was so distracted by the fact that I got the wrong diploma case.  I put it on my snap story and then I texted my boyfriend, who was sitting in the audience to show my family that I got the wrong diploma. It was hysterical, and hey made a great story.
So finally, we did our school's pledge, sang our school song, turned our tassels and threw our caps up into the air.
And that was that!! We graduated high school! I am officially an alum.
I later fixed my diploma case, and got the right one but kept the other one because it's really funny.

My family and I were watching a movie on Saturday night and my dad asked me where I go to school, and it took me a minute. I no longer go to my town's high school, nor will it be my last time there, but I go to Wake Forest University!!
Here are some photos of me in my gown before I graduated and after I graduated.
And what was under my robe and which will be featured again at my graduation/send off party.
Shoes: BCBG nude cork pumps (similar)
Bracelet: C Wonder pink "E" initial cuff (similar)
Navy blue graduation robe, cap and orange and blue tassel. And my honor cords- National Honor Society, TRIM, French, Social Studies, English, and Thespian Honor Society. And a cord for doing 85 hours or more of community service.  (Okay I'm done bragging.)
