Wow five years!
So much has changed since I first started Tall and Preppy 5 years ago today.
One of my followers gave me this idea and I thought it was brilliant.
So, keep scrolling to see what I looked like, what I wore and what I was going through five years ago compared to today.
Five years ago, on July 5th, 2015, I posted my first blog post, “Summer Night Out,” using an old photo from my trip to Florida from a couple weeks before. I am cringing a bit looking at that post now.
Back in 2015, I was going into my senior year of high school. I had bad grammar, cringe captions and cringe post titles. I posted 111 blog posts from July to the end of the year. I was obsessed with blogging and writing and that hasn’t changed.
I documented what it was like to be a senior in high school on Long Island. I talked about homecoming, prom, rejection, badminton, NYC, passing my road test, visiting colleges, theater, visiting Disney, sweet 16s, AP tests, senior events, graduation and my last day of high school.
I remember all of these events like it was yesterday.
July 5, 2020, I am now a recent Wake Forest University graduate and I am going to Hofstra Law School in the fall.
This year I documented what it was like taking the LSAT, going to homecoming, turning 21, going to Vegas, going to Brooklyn, attending date functions, dorm room tour, how to party at Wake, why I picked Wake, boy tips, visiting the Outerbanks and Asheville, going to a vineyard, working with Jack Rogers, sorority recruitment, Phi Alpha Delta, working with Rent the Runway, my fear of the gym, all the classes I took at Wake, long distance, sorority life, and what it was like being a senior in college.
I also documented the end of my senior year which consisted of a cruise during corona virus, online classes and an online graduation.
I have grown and changed tremendously over the past five years. I think it is evident on my blog. The content has changed as I have changed and grown.
I now know how to use spell check. I am more organized, and I plan out what I am going to blog about. I am even able to monetize my blog.
My style is one of the things that has been pretty constant within the past five years. It has only changed a bit. I still have some accessories from 5 years ago, but I am still rocking the preppy look.
I am the most confident and independent I have ever been.
I am the happy, well-spoken and confident woman I imagined I would be 5 years ago.
Thank you for following me, even if it hasn’t been for 5 years. It means the world to me.
I love you all so much.
Thank you for help making my dreams come true.
Xoxo
