Long Island Socially Distant Summer: Vineyard and Waterfront Dinner

This past Sunday, my boyfriend and I ventured east to Huntington/North Port for wine and dinner.

I found Del Vino Vineyards highly rated on OpenTable and Google, so I booked a reservation for 2 pm on Sunday.
We pulled up to this beautiful tasting room, it looked brand new, and parked where we were directed to.

We checked in with the hostess and she took our temperatures, while we wore our masks, and brought us to our very large, umbrella-shaded table overlooking the vineyard.
It was 90 degrees on Sunday, but we were comfortable in the shade.
The tables were spread out, and the servers all wore masks.
There were lots of families laughing and enjoying their Sunday afternoon.

I had a cold glass of rosé and Alex had a glass of Sauvignon Blanc.
The wine was absolutely delicious and refreshing.

The vineyard is family run and operated, which I love, I totally think my family could do something like this, I think it would be so fun.

This vineyard’s specialties are wine, of course, and tapas.
We ordered breaded artichoke hearts with our wine and had a little snack before dinner.
This is a great lunch spot. They had individual pizza’s and cheese boards. All the food looked delicious.

The ambiance of this place was so special, and I loved it.
I can’t wait to take my family back there.

After our glass of wine, we walked through the small vineyard, so small you could see from one side to the other and took some pictures.

We left the vineyard and drove around the town, looking at beautiful houses and the water.

I made an early dinner reservation at Prime right on Huntington Bay.
We sat outside and baked in the heat but enjoyed looking at the boats and the sea.

Our server, Michael, was so charismatic and funny.
He made great recommendations.
Alex and I both had the sangria, per his recommendation.
I had caramelized figs with goat cheese and prosciutto to start.
Alex went for the gnocchi.
For our main course, Alex and I both had lobster rolls.
This was no surprise, because we normally order the same thing at dinner.
For dessert, Michael sold us on the chocolate cake.

It was a really lovely day.
I would do it all over again if I could.
