I cannot believe my first semester of law school is over. I say that at the end of every semester, but this has been by far the fastest and most bizarre semester of my entire life. It was only 13 weeks long.
After today, I have 3 final tests and 1 paper. I will be done with finals before Thanksgiving!
I have never had a semester like this before.
I went to 13 weeks of class in a mask, in a 200-person lecture hall with 44 students (some in person and some on a big monitor broadcasted via Zoom) and my professor.
Some days I had Zoom class from my bedroom.
We crammed 13 weeks, of four classes, into a 15-week semester. I learned a lot, cried a hand full of times, was stressed a lot, but laughed a lot too.
Every day that I had class, I got dressed, made my bed and picked out a mask.
I learned so much. I have such a respect for lawyers and law students. It is a lot of hard work and dedication. A lot of reading and note taking (I completely filled up two of my notebooks and had to get new ones). But I’m really proud of myself for how much I have learned and grown this past semester.
I feel Wake prepared me really well for law school. Thank you Wake Forest.
I came into law school with the eye on the prize: graduation and being a lawyer. I had no real goal of making friends. I was like if it happens, it happens, and if not, no biggie. But I am so happy that I met an amazing group of women that are supportive and extremely intelligent. They are also hysterical. I am so lucky to have met such a smart and fun group of women.
So, for now, I’ll be studying for finals and I will see you when I’m done!
