15 of the Best Holiday Activities in NYC (Most are FREE!)

The holidays are here in NYC! Here’s a list of all of my favorite things to do for the holidays in Manhattan!

1.          Visit Rockefeller tree (best to go late at night or early in the morning when it is less crowded)

2.          Saks 5^th Ave for the light show and windows

3.          Radio City Christmas Spectacular (as Alex said, “it’s the happiest place on earth!”)

4.          Walk up and down 5th Ave to see Cartier and all the decorated storefronts

5.          Bryant Park holiday markets—you have to get the Italian donuts and hot chocolate

6.          Ice skating at Rockefeller Center, Bryant Park or Central Park

7.          Walk past the lions at the New York Public Library

8.          Rolf’s German Restaurant has the most festive holiday décor that is up all year long

9.          Union Square Holiday Market (great for shopping small businesses)

10.          Grand Central Station always looks festive at holiday time

11.          Macy’s Windows at Herald Square

12.          Hudson Yards is decked out in white lights

13.          Walk around the Upper East Side and the West Village to see decorations

14.      Visit festive hotel lobbies: The Plaza, The Peninsula, Lotte New York Palace, The Pierre, St. Regis, Waldorf Astoria, and Ritz-Carlton.

15.          Shop at Columbus Circle Holiday Market

Five Friday Favorites | 29 | Podcast Feature, White Noise, Express Blazer, FAVORITE Lipstick

 1.          The Let’s Get Candid Podcast- I was recently included in my friend, fellow sorority sister, legal gal, and Marco Island lover’s podcast. It was so fun to record! We talked all about law school during the pandemic and my love of blogging. I would love for you to give a listen and support my Kayla’s podcast.

2.          Quiet River Sounds- No need for a noise machine, you have one in your hand! The best white noise for when I need to study in a crowded space.

3.          Express double breasted black blazer- Express has such amazing blazers. I always forget about Express until I remember how great the quality of this blazer is. I’ve had this one for several years now. It is so chic, and the quality is amazing. 

4.          Signet ring- This is a great personalized gift! I worked with a brand back in 2020 to customize my ring, but you can find them everywhere. They’re classic!

5.          Neutrogena Moisture Smooth color stick in shade 100- My favorite lipstick of all time. This is the absolute perfect shade of nude pink. I have gone through maybe 4 of these tubes in my lifetime so far. Always my go to color!

Here is my collection:

Heels:

1.     Perfect Pumps in black suede 85 mm

·      So incredibly comfortable. This was my first pair! I wear them all day in the office with no discomfort. My foot feels super supported with the steel rod in the heel. Love the anatomical arch support and extra padded foot bed. I have convinced my whole team at work to order these shoes and they are in love.

·      Unfortunately, black suede does show scuffs and marks, so I try not to wear these heels very often.

·      Size: 40 (I am a true 9.5 in other shoes)

2.     Perfect Pumps in sand calf 85 mm

·      Again, these are so comfortable. They fit the same as my black pumps.

·      These are my most worn heels.

·      The leather does not show scuffs or marks easily.

·      Size: 40

3.     Perfect Sandals in sand calf 85 mm

·      The perfect nude color for me!

·      Such a sexy shoe! 

·      I wore these all night to my law school formal and they were extremely comfortable. Sometimes the back rubs my heel, but not usually. The straps around the toes also does not bother me.

·      Size: 40

4.     Parker in black mesh polka dot 50 mm (pictured here)

·      This is my most complimented pair of heels.

·      They are super sexy, with the peak of the toes.

·      This is a shorter heel than the others (also comes in 85 mm and a flat version), but again very comfortable. It has the same padded footbed and arch support. This is also a block heel, which provides extra support. The ankle strap does not rub.

·      Size: 40 but I could’ve sized down to 39.5 because there is some extra room.

Flats:

1.     Rosie in leopard calf hair 

·      This is a super chic pair of loafers. It is the perfect amount of height for day to day.

·      Size: 40 but I should’ve sized up as they are tight on my toes and give me blisters in my heels. I do stretch them with shoe inserts, so that seems to help. But they are taking a really long time to break in.

6.     Natalie Sling in petal calf 

·      The sling is a spin-off of the classic and most well-known and loved shoe of Sarah Flint, the Natalie.

·      This is a lighter nude shade than my Perfect Pumps and Perfect Sandals in sand calf.

·      The sling doesn’t hurt my heel. It is adjustable. Sometime the strap rubs weird on the side of my foot.

·      Size: 40
