Abercrombie Athletic Clothes: YPB Review
If you haven’t noticed, Abercrombie has completely transformed over the past several years. I was an original Abercrombie girl, that faded, as did the brand once controversial things came to light, but now they are back and better than ever, just like my love for the brand.
When I was in elementary and middle school, Abercrombie had their moose logo on everything and did not have an athletic clothing line.
When I became reintroduced to the brand when they re-released their company, I fell in love with most of their clothes. I was so impressed. So when they came out with their affordable athletic clothing line called, “Your Personal Best,” I was really excited to try the pieces.
My favorite part of the collection is the leggings. For under $50 (on sale- which they often are) they are pretty incredible. They have the perfect amount of stretch and support, that holds everything in place. Even on me, at 5’9”, they are super high waisted. They come in short, regular and long lengths. I personally like a cropped legging, so I get the regular length, even though, the long length would be perfect for me. YPB sculptLUX 7/8-Length Leggings are the only bottoms I wear currently for exercise.
I cannot speak more highly of these athletic leggings. I have over a dozen pairs. Unfortunately, I have had a couple of pairs where the threads have come loose after a dozen washes, but I contacted customer service and I was given replacement pairs.
Until a couple of months ago, YPB only had “long lined sports bras” which I am not a fan of. They are supposed to replace regular sports bras by being long enough to be both a crop top and a sports bra. I don’t find these tops to be supportive or flattering as they roll up (I have a couple). Also, I don’t like showing my stomach during exercising, so I prefer to wear a regular sports bra with a tank top.
With that being said, the only things I think the collection is missing are good sports bras and tank tops. They have released a couple of tanks and sports bras, but that’s still not enough for me not to shop elsewhere for tops and bras.
The shorts are great too! I have split shorts and unlined shorts. I personally hate shorts and hardly ever wear them because they always make my legs look wide because they always cut my leg off in a weird spot, but, less so with these.
If you are interested in trying out the brand, now’s the time as there is free shipping and an extra 15% off in cart.

Five Friday Favorites | 59 | Sezane, Netflix Shows, West Village Bars, Best Chocolate Cake and Creamy Pasta Recipe
1. Sezane- This is the most beautiful French brand. Their sweaters are stunning. I toured the store on Elizabeth Street in NoLita. I have my eyes on this cardigan and this one.
2. David Beckham documentary on Netflix- He’s beautiful and so is his wife. I loved getting to see inside their seemingly very normal lives. He’s an incredible athlete.
3. Due West- My friends and I have come to the sad realization that at 25 and 26, we have outgrown the East Village party scene. We are now officially venturing to the West Village for bars. I checked out Due West the other night and it was great! Tiny spot inside but good drinks and good vibes! Lots of seating too, so if that is more your vibe, this is a great spot to check out.
4. Chocolate cake from Little Cupcake Bake Shop- Ranked the best chocolate cake in New York, at $10 a slice, I was expecting perfection, and it was! Highly recommend going to Prince Street for a slice or a cupcake.
5. Creamy spinach tortellini with shrimp- I found this recipe on Pinterest. This recipe is full of cheesy goodness! Highly recommend for people without a dairy allergy.

Veja Review: Campo vs. Esplar
These beautiful French white leather sneakers have taken the shoe game by storm. Ethically produced in Brazil, these unisex tennis shoes are tough to find in the states, pricier than your average pair of lace-up white shoes, but incredibly on-trend, at the same time being classic and a staple in my wardrobe.
In college, I wore Converse to parties. I graduated and started visiting Manhattan often, and realized I needed a white sneaker. White leather sneakers truly go with everything. My first pair was from J.Crew. Then I upgraded to Stan Smiths. The year after I went one step further and got a pair of Esplar Veja sneakers with the signature “V” logo in hot pink. After that, I purchased the Campo in rose gold.
Before I get into the comparison of the two different models, let me say that for both styles of shoes you have to size up. The shoes run very very very small. I am a true EU 40 and I have to wear a 41 in these. Unfortunately, the brand does not do half sizes, so when in doubt, size up.
These shoes also sell out incredibly fast in the US. I was on a wait list for months for the rose gold Campo shoes. Nordstrom is my go-to spot to find them.
They are way easier to find in France. Alex bought a pair while we were there this summer. They are also cheaper by about $40-50 in Europe plus a VAT refund.
Both pairs are incredibly easy to wipe down with a paper towel and some water. I have easily done hundreds of miles in each pair.
⁃ My first pair
⁃ Flat leather, not as flexible
⁃ Thinner sole
⁃ Squeezes my toes
Campo (as pictured)
⁃ Pebbled leather
⁃ Thicker sole
⁃ Very supportive
⁃ Never got any blisters
I highly recommend the Campo. They are way more comfortable in my opinion and I am already eyeing my next pair. If you want a pair, snag them FAST!

Five Friday Favorites | 58 | Best Chocolate Chip Cookies in NYC, Family Style Dinner, Favorite Salad & Customizable Tote Bag
1. Maman chocolate chip cookies- One of the best cookies in NYC is from Levain, but Maman may have topped the cookie charts. Levain is known for their super thick cookies, that feel like a block of bricks. The Maman cookie is less thick, but the same kind of gooeyness. Highly recommend!
2. Marathon Sunday- The energy on Marathon Sunday is electric and honestly moving. All these people, from all walks of life, can put aside their differences to cheer on complete strangers, is kind of incredible. We went up to mile 15 on 1st Ave and saw the elites and even fellow Deac, Matt James! One of my favorite days in New York.
3. Ainslie- This is a really fun place for a group dinner! I went to a birthday dinner at the Brooklyn location and loved it. The family style food was perfect for a big group. We had steak, fries, penne pasta, pizza, rice balls, burrata, calamari, Caesar salad, and the list goes on!
4. Just Salad with crispy chicken aka chicken nuggets- I always bring my lunch for work from home, so I am going to treat myself and buy lunch every Friday from somewhere new so I can explore the neighborhood around my office. I made a list the other day of all the spots I want to try. My first stop was Just Salad. It’s the same idea as Chopt or Sweet Green, but this one seems to be my favorite so far because they have crispy chicken which literally tastes like chicken nuggets.
5. Barrington tote bag- I love this bag for work and every day. It’s a slim tote bag, so perfect for a laptop or planner and some notebooks.

Five Friday Favorites | 57 | Holiday Clothes, NYC Restaurants, NYC Rooftop Bar & Favorite Margarita Recipe
1. Antonio Melani x Born on 5th holiday collection- The perfect party dresses and accessories. The Catherine dress, Constance jacket and the Elle shoes are all to die for!
2. Little Ruby’s Cafe- Try the onion dip, cheese burger and sweet potato fries! You won’t be disappointed. You may, however, be disappointed in the staff trying to push you out of table even after you’ve only been there for 40 minutes… but besides that, it was a good meal.
3. Margarita recipe- This is the only margarita recipe I will drink! It’s 2 oz tequila, 1 oz Cointreau and 1 oz like juice (and a splash of seltzer if you’re feeling fun!)
4. Legasea Bar & Grill- Before a show at MSG, grab some mini weenies and fried chicken sandwiches at this restaurant in the Moxy Hotel.
5. Brass Monkey- If you want a rooftop bar, head to Brass Monkey in meatpacking for great views and rude bouncers. This three-story bar is fun and pretty low key. If you go before 11, there isn’t a cover charge.
