1. Oscar Wilde – I have always wanted to visit this bar/restaurant in midtown. The décor brings you back to prohibition time. This is such a cool spot for a cocktail. I met my friend Giorgia after work one day last week. The bar is on both sides of this long vast restaurant. It’s beautiful and we really enjoyed our drinks. Definitely get something with gin in it, as Mr. Wilde was from Ireland.
2. Alice – The sweet potato gnocchi was divine. Really good spot for a fun dinner with friends. It was expensive, but worth it!
3. Shoo Shoo – I was craving Mediterranean food the other night, so Alex and I went to this spot in NoLita. It was delicious. I really loved the hummus and baba ganoush. The chocolate mousse dessert was amazing too.
4. Eataly SOHO – After dinner at Shoo Shoo we went for a drink at Eataly in SOHO. This is a recently new location. Most of the space is for people to dine. There is a small market in the back and a small café area with coffee and sweet treats.
5. Veselka – We have walked by this neighborhood spot for years now, and have never tried it. The line is always out the door. We went last weekend for some perogies and we were not disappointed. This Ukrainian restaurant is a neighborhood gem. The braised beef and sauerkraut perogies were my favorites.
